The Great Christmas Tree Hunt

November 29, 2008

This is our family Tradition. The day after Thanksgiving we go with my cousins, their children, and my brother to cut down our Christmas tree. This year it rained poured. But we didn't let it stop us from having fun! The tree farm is in North Bend. It's well worth the drive, There is a hay ride around the farm, you are served hot apple cider and you get to warm your hands next to a warm fire inside the main cabin. Santa also sees visitors – as you can see I even took my turn on Santa's lap. Simon wasn't so sure what to think of him.

be prepared for Snap shot overload. I couldn't take many photos outside due to the heavy rain.  And the credit goes to my mom for most of these photos.

Thankfull

I am Thankful…
for a beautiful healthy boy
a husband that provides for us
for having plenty of food to eat
for lots of friends and family
for a family of talented musicians
that Simon gets to know not only grandparents but great grandparents.
for having really good health insurance and not needing to use it : )

I hope everyone had a very lovely Thanksgiving like we did.
feel free to say what you are thankful for in the comments.

Blast from the past

November 20, 2008

My blogging buddy Jewls from two peas in a bucket  challenged me to re-post a photo from the first 4 moths of blogging and tell the story behind it. So here it is.

Gavin and Owen from November of 2006

DSC_0309.1.bw

What I remember from this day was that it was freezing. And that we went out on the beach to take photos so it was even colder because of the cold breeze coming up off the water. We actually had to take a break and go into Tullys for some hot chocolate. Gavin (the baby) was the coldest and his nose turned bright red and I spent a lot of time in post production removing the red.

And here they are today.. all grown up.

These were taken November 2008 : ) – much much warmer this time around.

So now I am tagging 4 people and challenging them to do the same.  Val, Kelly, Lyndsay, and Amy

have fun!

More fall color

November 12, 2008

I am almost done with 2008! I am officially booked for the rest of the year with the exception of newborns. I will always squeeze in newborns. I just uploaded 6 or so galleries so if you did not get an email from me and you are waiting on your proofs – hold on I'm almost done! In the mean time here is another beautiful family.

I get asked all the time "can I bring my dog to my session?" the answer is yes, if you know how to control him or her. Not to brag but I am pretty good with children. I know how to get them to look at the camera at least. But I am clueless when it comes to dogs, most of them want to look at their owners not at my camera. Turns out dog treats go a long way – Champ here even seems to be smiling!

One year old!

November 11, 2008

These last few weeks have been all about one-year-olds. An age I like a lot. You have to be pretty creative with ways to get them to sit still long enough for a photo. Hence the collection of chairs, baskets, tubs and toys.

Here is another one-year-old cuttie!

Simon’s push cart

November 10, 2008

I picked up this push cart for Simon at IKEA. (It is not weighted properly so I had to some bricks in the cart part.) Simon really loves it and pushes it up and down the hallway about 20 times a day. He can't turn it so when he gets to the end of the hall he just shakes the handle until I come turn it for him.  He is so cute that I took a video.

That's how Simon plays with it. And this is how his dad plays with it.

Simon likes being pushed on the cart so much that he cries whenever you stop.

In case you didn't guess her name is Luna, and she has seriously beautiful blue eyes. We are certainly having a beautiful fall this year despite some rainy weather.
