I thought this look said it all!

This is Simon (or baby Simon as my Simon calls him), son of my friend Sarah. They are actually living in England for the time being so it was a long trip for Simon to come to be photographed. (Actually they were visiting friends and working while here). Baby Simon is already quite the world traveler and has been all over the UK and now the US.  I am so glad that he (and his mom) could make some time in their schedule to visit with us. As you can see he is a very happy little guy and made a great subject.

what a cutie!

I photographed a 6 day old this morning (I will post that session soon) and I realized that I am really bored with all of my baskets and I need to find some new ones. That’s my disease, I am a prop collector. But then I remembered that I do have one special basket that I am waiting to use outside. Hopefully it will be warm soon and an overcast but warm day will coincide with a newborn session.

I have to admit newborns are my favorite subject. I have a lot of great ideas bouncing around in my head and some things I want to try. If you are expecting a newborn sometime this summer and are interested in participating in some outdoor sessions with me I am offering a free session and one free 11×14 of your choice. Additional prints can be purchased at regular prices. Please contact me for more information. emily@emilyweaverbrownphoto.com

One of the most interesting parts of photographing newborns is that I get to hear all of their birth stories. Most are quite entertaining but this was one of the best ones yet. This brother and sister set were born vaginally (very rare for twins) and one was vertex and the other breech. As far as I know most OBs now days won’t even deliver a single breech baby vaginally. Needless to say I was pretty impressed. For the moms part she said it was one of the most painful things she has ever experienced (I’ll bet!).

This is Seattle’s Youth Symphony’s Benji Bae, an extremely talented young man.

Benji recently preformed in the Bellevue Philharmonic concert series
and needed a few head shots for the program. I don’t normally get to
photograph musicians and I was thrilled at the opportunity. I love working with babies but it is nice to get to listen to some classical music inseatd of crying for a change. Benji will shortly be auditioning at all the major music conservatories and universities I am sure he will have his pic as to where he studies. Look for him in the next few years at a concet hall near you.

January 29, 2009

I haven't posted in a long time…
well I have been busy! Photos, Photos, Photos, Taxes, Photos, Photos, planning Simon's Birthday, Photos Photos etc. January 31st is the deadline for remitting excise taxes so I had to catch up on entering all that stuff into quickbooks. Procrastination is not one of my finer qualities. With that behind me I can get back to the fun stuff.
Here are some adorable brothers. 3 weeks old.

After working with twins photographing single babies seems like a breeze! With twins there are never enough hands!

More coming soon. Including some pics of the Birthday boy.
