Brother and Sister {Seattle Newborn Photographer}

One of the most interesting parts of photographing newborns is that I get to hear all of their birth stories. Most are quite entertaining but this was one of the best ones yet. This brother and sister set were born vaginally (very rare for twins) and one was vertex and the other breech. As far as I know most OBs now days won’t even deliver a single breech baby vaginally. Needless to say I was pretty impressed. For the moms part she said it was one of the most painful things she has ever experienced (I’ll bet!).

  1. As always, BEAUTIFUL photos. You really are extraordinarily talented.
    I get the impression OBs are more comfortable with twin breech (as long as the first baby is head down) than singleton breech, and probably for good reason. With a singleton breech, there’s the risk of head entrapment above a not-quite-dilated cervix, but if a head-first baby has already been born, the risk of head entrapment is basically gone. Plus there’s usually the possibility of manually turning the breech twin once there’s all that extra room.

  2. those babies are beautiful…hats off to momma!
