Sorry I have fallen behind. I keep taking the photos but mostly they are stuck on a memory card. So give me a few days here and I will get all caught up.

I should post something on the blog… how about a cut baby? OK

This is miss Olive at 3 months old. She is 5 months old now (almost 6) so these are a bit old but I have to share because I can’t believe that she let me do this to her at 3 months of age. I had all but given up on her falling asleep for any photos and then she did – but we were wrapping things up and she was fully clothed. So not only did I position her like this, I then removed her onsie and diaper while she was still sleeping! I couldn’t believe that she stayed asleep. What a doll. She has the cutest chub and she is such an easy going delightful child. The other day she and Ivy were over and Simon and Ivy just got her all riled up into fits of laughter. They can really get her going. And while I can make her smile she doesn’t think I am funny at all.

They don’t get any cuter than that!

I am starting to run out of outfits! these are my real life clothes, I wore this all day and then just took the photo in it. I may need to do some goodwill shopping. I know a lot of people have wondered and asked about all of my outfits used in this photo series. The truth is that I have accumulated many over the years to use with clients. If you watch my maternity post you will likely see a lot of the outfits on clients. Especially the knit dresses because they always photograph so nicely and don’t need to be ironed. A lot of the nicer things I have worn in the series photos are also from my friend Danielle who loaned me all of her maternity clothing, and then there are a few things from when I was pregnant with Simon, and then like today’s outfit, comfortable clothes that I bought this pregnancy. Most of the clothes in my maternity photos are not maternity clothes  – I find that non maternity clothing actually shows off the bump better and is not so baggy. So anyway – the weeks are flying by I keep reminding Myles that in as little as 8 weeks we could potentially have a baby here. He doesn’t seem to have the urgency that I do to get things done around the house. I still have a lot of organization and cleaning that I want done and I would like to make some meals ahead of time and stock my freezer. Of course this necessitates cleaning my freezer because Myles exploded a fruit drink in there and it is all sticky (nice).  So that’s what I am up to these days. Taking lots of photos and cleaning and organizing.

until next time!

Just realized that this post was saved as a draft and never published – oops! I didn’t forget. I will be back tomorrow with 29 weeks.

I think this is the 3rd trimester? My clue- just looked at my calender and noticed that my prenatal appointments go to once every other week instead of just once a month. I have to say this pregnancy is going much faster than my first. Of course I probably won’t be saying that next month when I am sick of being pregnant!

Simon was born at 38 weeks so I have to keep stoping myself from thinking that I only have 10 weeks left because I know I am going to be really disapointed when I hit week 42!

Tomorrow is our 7th anniversary!

This week was crazy for us! we had a contractor here redoing our fireplace and we also started getting some much needed work done on the bathroom.  Of course all of this renovation made it very difficult for me to have clients in the studio so this week I did something that I haven’t done in over two years, I went to a client’s home for a newborn session. And you know what, it was kind of fun. I think it’s easy to get stuck in a rut doing the same old thing so it’s nice to have a challenge every once in a while. So on Friday morning I loaded up all my stuff in the car and drove to my client’s home. Unfortunately I forgot one very essential item, the power cord to my strobe. So it was even more of a fun challenge as these were shot all with natural light. Luckily this family had a beautiful home filled with natural light so it was not an issue and I love the results! Here is beautiful Lucy and her family.

I love her soulful eyes in the above image.

What a sweet family!

back from the coast

I have many many photos that I haven’t even looked at yet but I just wanted to share this one that my mom took of us. This is at Cannon Beach and the rock in the background is the famous haystack rock. We had such a great time and I can’t wait to share more photos and videos but first I promised some anxious mommies and daddies a sneak peek from their session, so check back soon!

And we are off! We are taking a much needed mini family vacation to the Oregon coast. I am stoked – even though it involves packing which I hate. Lots of photos when we return!

until then

P.S. for all you non PNW people Oregon, is constantly miss pronounced by you folks (even on TV) the correct pronunciation is OR-ih-guhn it does NOT rhyme with “gone”.  And yes, I am well aware that people from the PNW pronounce Appalachia and Missouri incorrectly.

Eric S.: Annoying but true - there is a small town about an hour's drive away from us, in NW Ohio, named Oregon. Pronounced or-ih-GONE. Needless to say, all the locals can't pronounce the state's name right. It drives this transplanted Oregonian crazy.

Susie: You should drive through Bend and say hi to Summer.

Chanda: I LOVE your dress. What a great color. I love the freckles on your shoulder. So cute! I miss you cutie pie mama.

Summer Fun

We have been spending a lot of time in our backyard and for Simon at least clothing is optional. This kid loves watermelon. Given the opportunity he could probably eat an entire watermelon on his own. We also made some popsycles out of greek yogurt and fresh raspberries.( I got the idea here.) they are delicious.

We have a great little inflatable pool and Simon loves jumping off the back of the slide. I love his expression in this photo : )
