at the Puget Sound Birth Center in Kirkland Washington delivered by our wonderful midwife Andrea Henderson. (We can’t say enough good things about the midwives at PSBC)
Everyone is in excellent health and we are now at home recuperating.
What everyone says about trying to photograph your own child is absolutely true – it is very very difficult, especially when you are both exhausted. So these will have to do for now. We will post some more images and video shortly.

Emily, I just received your spring offer in my inbox, so I was inspired to go to your website and then your blog. Congratulations on your baby, Simon. He is absolutely beautiful and it sounds like you and motherhood agree with each other. You took pictures of my husband and I when we weren’t sure if we were pregnant or not back in October 2006 (Trevor and Jessica Peterson). As it turned out, we were pregnant and we announced it to our parents with your photo a few weeks later. They were ecstatic! And we still talk about how perfect your picture was to break the news. We also labored at PSBC, but with Val, though we were transferred to Swedish where Abigail Valeria was born on July 14th, 2007. Reading your blog brought tears to my eyes as I saw you experiencing new motherhood. We can’t say enough good things about PSBC and our midwives as well. I look forward to reading your future blogs. Congrats again!
