Talia {one week old}

Can you believe how fast that went! She is changing before my eyes!

Already her face is much fuller and her belly is fatter, her cry is much stronger. Tomorrow we visit the midwives and she will be weighed again. I am curious to see how much she has gained.

All of these photos were taken today…

She is a pretty easy going baby, of course it’s hard to tell much about their personality in just one week.  Mostly she is just held a lot and she is quite happy that way. Her eating schedule is quite interesting in the morning she will have a long awake period and she will cluster nurse every 15 – 30 min. And then she will sleep for like 4 hours. In the evening she is mostly out as long as she is near either Myles or I. Usually she just snoozes on a pillow on my lap while I edit photos. She only wakes every 2 hours or so to nurse and then she goes right back to sleep. I have found that it is much easier to take photos of her in the evenings than it is in the morning which is backwards from what I usually do.  She still really likes a fist, or if she can get it her thumb in her mouth and for a newborn she is surprisingly good at getting it in her mouth. If she think she is owed food and I don’t get to her fast enough she lets us know how cruel we are and how she is starving. (see photo bellow)

But as soon as she has some milk in her mouth she is calm again. Anytime she cries Simon will run to me and say “mommy she needs milk!” We have also made a point of telling him how much she likes him and loves him and looks up to him. So periodically now he will come over to her and pet her head and say with a little smile “She likes me!” and we will assure him “Yes, she really does”

  2. Simon just melts my heart with his little sayings and comments! He must love his baby sister so much! I love how worried the older siblings get when the baby cries!

  3. Nice to see a not so perfect (beautiful) picture! “Milk!”
