The Praying Mantis and Butterfly. Both these costumes were the kids own ideas. I lobbied hard for wolf and lamb. Simon was up for being a wolf but Talia wanted nothing to do with the lamb business. Then Simon decided on praying mantis. I have no idea where he came up with that. I asked Talia if she could think of an insect that she might want to be and she quickly thought of butterfly.
So there you go, every year I think this is the last year I will get them to dress in a theme and then they do it again! However, when we got to Talia’s preschool party she was pretty upset about all the Elsas. It was like it never occurred to her that kids would dress up as movie characters until she saw them. She has been asking all day if we can go get an Elsa costume (nope!). So this is probably really the last year that I can get them to dress up as a theme together but I will tray again next year for the wolf and lamb. Simon always brings up whales and sharks and other ocean mammals as options but all of them seem very difficult to make so we haven’t done any of those yet either.

Your kids always have the best looks on their faces that are a dead give-away about their true feelings. I really like the poses.
The butterfly should keep her distance from the praying mantis. She could be eaten.
