Talia’s dedication

Today Talia was dedicated at church. The church has had this dedication Sunday on the schedule for months and we thought our baby would be at least a month old by now so we signed up. Of course she is not quite 2 weeks old, and this was her first time at church.  She decided right as we were called up that it would be a good time to eat so she fussed through most of it while I rocked/bounced  her. Simon hammed it up by trying to grab the microphone and turning it off while Myles talked. Then as we were heading back to our seat he said (very loudly) to teacher Pam (one of the children’s ministry leaders, far right in the photo). “You come play with me! two minuets!” He loves teacher Pam!

And yes, she is wearing blue. apparently this is confusing for people because girls are only supposed to wear pink or purple, but actually she looks great in blue and when you do all your shopping on ebay and at consignment stores you can’t be that picky. Honestly I think that newborns look pretty silly in clothes (like they are swimming in them) and it took me awhile to find something warm enough and not ridiculously big. I thought it was pretty cute but I got asked at least three times if she was really a boy. Anyway here is her in her cute outfit.

If you want to see a few blurry photos from Simon’s dedication check these out. I had completely forgotten that he was dedicated on mother’s day 2008.

  1. I think most babies look better in blue then they do in pink. People were constantly complaining to me that Moira wasn’t dressed in pink when she was a baby. Admittedly, I bought a lot of her clothes in the boys section, so she was cross dressed.
