Halloween 2011

My fox and Raccoon 🙂

This is Talia’s first Halloween (her birthday is tomorrow) I wanted to make something that would play off her glasses hence the raccoon. Of course since I conceptualized the costume she got new glasses but I put her in the old ones just for the sake of the costume.  Simon originally wanted to be a shark but I have no idea how to make that so I gently steered him towards the fox (this is probably the last year I will be able to get away with that).

In years past Simon has been an Octopus, an Owl, and a Turtle
The owl is by far his most popular costume, I still get emails about “how to make it” (it was a lot of trail in error, I actaully made the body over twice!)
But my favorite photo is the turtle rolled over on his back – so funny!

what were your kids this year?

I would LOVE to know how you made the raccoon costume! I have been looking for two just like it for next year (trying to get in on the after Halloween costume discounts). My twin girls are going to be the twin lost boy raccoons from Peter Pan next year with Mom as Wendy and Dad as Peter Pan. Can you tell me if you used a pattern of made one of your own??

I used a generic cat/dog costume pattern from Jo-Ann’s and just made the tail and ears like a raccoon.
